Today you will see the cosmopolitan city of Delhi. You will visit the two parts of the Indian capital. First,Old Delhi with the imposing Red Fort from outside (Shah Jahan's citadel in red sandstone) and the impressive Friday Mosque Jama Masjid (India's largest mosque). In New Delhi you can see India Gate and drive through the government district with numerous buildings such as the Parliament of India and the Presidential Palace. Afterwards drive to Agra. After breakfast visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love and remains one of India’s most enduring symbols. The tomb was built by Mughal Emperor ShahJahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz. Then we visit the impressive Agra Fort. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Agra.
Early in the morning leave for Gwalior By train (about 100 Km). The city is known for its fortress and the palace. The impressive Fort Gwalior stands on a two-mile area, hundred meters above the roots of the city. In the afternoon continue sightseeing in the city. Visit Jai Vilas Palace Museum which offers numerous rarities, including the heaviest chandelier in the world and a silver miniature railway. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Khajuraho. After hotel check in, explore the city, which is famous for its fascinating carved erotic sculptures. Their origin dates back to the 10th century.Khajuraho (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the ancient temple city (of about 1000 years). Despite a very long time the sculptures and architecture are well preserved. Mythical creatures, processions, heavenly beauties and topless dancers carved skillfully on the soft stone by artists. After breakfast drive to the train station in Jhansi and we go to Bhopal by the Shatabdi Express train. You will be received by a representative at the station and transfered to the hotel. In the afternoon, discover the capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal was built in the first half of the 18th century on the site of a company founded by Raja Bhojapal in the 11th century . Bhopal is a diverse city and is famous for its lakes, parks, magnificent mosques and ornate palaces. With your guide, visit the Taj-ul-Masjid, which is the largest mosque in India and is also used as Islamic School. Overnight at the hotel.
Your first visit today is Sanchi, located about 46 km north-west of Bhopal and is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The perfectly restored stupas are the testimony of the spread of Buddhism under the Maurya Emperor Ashoka and belong to the artistically most valuable legacies from the early days of Buddhism throughout Asia. Besides the aforementioned stupas with their impressive pillars, the ruins of a Buddhist monastery are well worth seeing. Let yourself be enchanted by the well-maintained and quiet complex in its spell. Next you visit Bhimbetka, another UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. Here you can discover the oldest examples of human habitation of Madhya Pradesh. Admire the naturally created rock landscape and the 10,000 year old paintings in the secluded caves. Your last visit today day is Bhojpur, a town dating back from the 11th century. Here is the famous temple of Lord Shiva, which is home to the largest lingam from all over India. This temple town on the banks of the river Narmada finds mention in the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Revived to its ancient position of importance by the Holkar queen Rani Ahilyabai of Indore. Maheshwar's temples and mighty fort-complex stand in quiet beauty, mirrored in the river below. PM sight seeing of Maheshwar, visit, Rajgaddi and Rajwada - A life-size statue of Rani Ahilyabai sits on a throne in the Rajgaddi within the fort complex. Temples - the many-tiered temples of Maheshwar are distinguished by their carved overhanging balconies and their intricately worked doorways. Kaleshwar, Rajarajeshwara, Vithaleshwara and Ahileshwar are the temples to be seen. Over night at Hotel.
After breakfast drive to Aurangabad on the way visit Ajanta - Ajanta is world's greatest historical monument recognized by UNESCO located just near to Jalgaon city of Maharashtra, India. After lunch you can explore Ajanta cave or continued drive to Aurangabad. Arrival and check inn to Hotel. Over night at hotel.
After breakfast Am excursion to Allora - Spanning a period of about 600 years between the 5 th and 11 th century AD, the earliest excavation here is of the Dhumar Lena (Cave 29).The most imposing excavation is, without doubt, that of the magnificent Kailasa Temple (Cave 16) which is the largest monolithic structure in the world. Interestingly, Ellora, unlike the site of Ajanta, was never 'rediscovered'. Known as Verul in ancient times, it has continuously attracted pilgrims through the centuries to the present day.Back to Aurangabad and over night at Hotel.
